*Proceeds go to the establishment of an Educational Foundation for USD 254.
The Gyp Hills Quest is a 20k race on public and private roads just SW of the city of Medicine Lodge. The course will challenge all runners regardless of fitness level. There is also a shorter 5k Fun Run for those looking for a shorter distance. This is on an open course (roads will not be closed to traffic) on very low volume roads.
All participants (who register by September 15) will receive a T-shirt at check-in. 20k runners will also receive a Finisher Award. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 in each category.
Gyp Hills Quest is on an open course and there may be local traffic. The roads selected for the race are lower volume, but all runners need to pay attention and the wearing of headphones is highly discouraged. On the 20k course, approximately 1 mile is paved, the rest is gravel/dirt. Friends and Family are not allowed on the course but are welcome to wait and cheer you on at the finish line. The course will be marked and there will be 2 aid stations on the 20k course (approx. mile 4 and 9). All 20k racers are encouraged to have a water bottle or hydration pack. Aid stations will have water and electrolyte powder.
